One morning, I looked out to find only one bird in the nest and he was sitting on the edge of the nest. By the next day, he had flown away. If feels strange not to go to the window to watch their progress. Yes, I miss them.

Empty Nest Syndrome
The very day that I posted about finding a cardinals nest with eggs in it, they hatched. I enjoyed watching the parents find worms and bugs and come feed the babies. It was hard to focus through the window screen, but i was able to get a few pictures of them feeding.

Boy, they kick those babies out fast, don't they? You think my kids could make it on their own yet...haha! Just kidding, folks!
