I have always wanted to see a hawk up close in the wild, but this was a little too close... As we were setting up lunch at Fort Kid, the kids started shouting that there was a hawk. I looked up in the tree, saw him and took a picture, not realizing that he had just caught a pigeon and was trying to kill it. The next thing I knew, Ginnie was shouting that blood was dripping on her. I quickly cleaned her off with napkins, wipes and discenfectant. Lunch wasn't quite as tastey after that.
